OLD Sarum League winners Fovant overcame Chalke Valley in the final of the Old Sarum Knockout Cup to complete a memorable double.
Fovant were quickly out of the blocks and runs from Andy O’Neill (29), Tom Boatwright (25) and Tom Pearce (24) took them to 146-5.
In reply, a partnership between man of the match Anthony Jeffery (53 not out) and Henry Lamb (39) had all but won the match when Jeffery had to retire and Lamb was dismissed. Wickets fell quickly and two runs off the last ball by Mark Cuff forced a tie with Chalke Valley 146-8. Fovant won the match on loss of wickets.
