A FRENETIC first half saw Laverstock & Ford take a 4-1 lead over Ringwood Town – and that was the way it stayed at The Dell on Saturday.

Kieran Mulcahy opened the scoring after 15 minutes, cutting inside and firing into the far corner. Just four minutes later, Lewis Wykes tapped in at the back post from good work by James Clifton.

Will Cranmer, in the first team in the league for the first time this season after signing Sydenhams forms, then scored the goal of the game in the 28th minute.

He won the ball on the halfway line and carried it before lobbing the goalkeeper from 30 yards.

James Totczyk pulled one back three minutes later, but Lavvy restored their three goal advantage before the break, Mulcahy with a first time finish on 40 minutes.

“It was a good win for us, and a positive reaction to two league defeats following losing at Downton in the Hospital Cup,” said manager Rob Lakeman.

Eddie Perrett could make a swift return to Church Road, having signed for this Saturday’s opponents, leaders Andover Town.

“They have links with Sparsholt College and a lot of good players to call on,” said Lakeman. “You don’t know who you are going to face but you know it will be a hard game.”

Kristian Greer, still on Wyvern forms despite leaving for Amesbury Town, scored twice in a 3-3 draw at Lymington Town last Wednesday.

Tony Ellis got the other.

Ringwood travel to Cowes Sports on Saturday and Hythe & Dibden on Tuesday.
