TEN-man Bemerton Heath Harlequins exited the Wiltshire Cup on Tuesday night following a 3-0 defeat to Bradford Town.

Life wasn’t easy for manager Ian Chalk, pictured, with a selection headache as players were missing through injury and illness, which led to two players being fielded after a two-year break from the game.

Plus, the dismissal of Kane O’Keefe, returning after two months out, left them in hotwater after ten minutes.

“We played really well but had too many missing,” an upbeat Chalk said.

Despite the semi-final defeat, Heath remain flying high in Wessex Premier as Jack Slade got the winner against Totton and Eling.

On Saturday, Bemerton could do rivals Downton a favour as they welcome struggling Fawley to Western Way (3pm).

Jeff Softley’s side, who lost to Andover 2-1 in the Hospital Cup, head to Christchurch at the weekend (3pm).

Saturday saw them pick up a much-needed point at home to AFC Portchester – former White Jake Thomson’s club – with Lee Weeks (2) and Martin Johnson on target in the 3-3 draw.
