A HAT-TRICK from Harvey Coker got Amesbury Town back to winning ways in Wessex Division One.

Suffering the defeat at Bonnymead Park, on a glorious day, was East Cowes Victoria. Nathan Barnett got the Blues’ fourth in the 4-2 success.

Meanwhile, Laverstock and Ford went down on Saturday 1-3 to Hythe and Dibden and again on Tuesday to Pewsey Vale.

“This was a very scrappy game with hardly any football played,” said Lavvy head coach Robbie Lakeman after Saturday’s loss.

“The flow of the game seemed to suit them more than us but the result, again, sums up our season.

“Last Tuesday aside, when we rode our luck at times against Cowes, it seems that these sort of games have always gone against us. This, and the rub of the green falls to our opponents. What these tougher games have done though is improve the work ethic within the side which can only be a good thing going into the remaining six games.”

On Saturday, Lavvy host East Cowes Victoria in a third successive home match, while Town visit Cowes Sports. Both matches are 3pm kick-offs.
