ROBBIE Lakeman says he’s happy with Laverstock & Ford’s ninth place finish but is hoping to push further up the Wessex Division One table next season.
His Lavvy players signed off the season with a 3-0 victory at home to Team Solent on Saturday, which saw them leapfrog rivals Amesbury Town on goal difference after they were thumped 5-1 at Pewsey Vale on Thursday. Elliott Wykes’ solitary lead was bolstered in the second half after goals from Ollie Batchelor and James Clifton guaranteed the The Dell outfit ended with 38 points.
“This was a great win for us and one which we were really focussed on getting,” Lakeman said.
“Quite often the last game of the season gets disregarded but we were determined to finish as high as we could, which we did so and is great testament to the players.
“As ever, we will look to improve next season and I am confident with the squad we now have, with a few additions we can certainly achieve that.”
