BELEAGURED Downton became the latest casualties to slip up at table-topping United Services Portsmouth.
Winless Robins, who were without leaders Dan Newman and Ben Smith, were forced to reshuffle ahead of the task in Hampshire.
Ben Rankin was on target for the visitors but goals from ex-Amesbury player Callum Coker and Michael Dark inflicted a third successive defeat on Downton.
Assistant manager Jack Brooks said: “We were excellent throughout and managed to create chances, but the goals we conceded were the types of misfortunate you get when you’re searching for a first win.”
Downton return to the pitch on Saturday, October 4 with the visit to Team Solent (3pm).
