A LATE collapse from Bemerton saw them ship three goals in the last 15 minutes as visitors Fawley came from behind to stun the Harlequins.

The home team had looked to be coasting towards victory after two strikes from Scott Joyce put them into a seemingly match winning two goal advantage.

But Fawley came roaring back after a lack of concentration down the right hand side allowed a cross to an unmarked Dylan Knight who tapped into an empty net.

With their tails now up the visitors sensed a chance and again Fawley surged forward down the right hand side with Benjamin Bolton turning home the cross.

The comeback was complete just two minutes from time when a Harlequins defensive mix up allowed Knight a chance to let fly a speculative effort which was deflected past the helpless Max Frampton for his second of the match.

After the game, manager Ian Chalk said: “At two-nil we were very comfortable, probably too comfortable and I made a substitution which may have upset our concentration.

“The change was needed as Joe Spratt was carrying a Hamstring injury but we allowed them to pull one back straight away and then the game changed.

“Instead of holding our shape we went for a third and ultimately paid the price.

“That's football though and full credit to Fawley they kept going and we were guilty of taking our foot off the gas.

Hopefully it's a lesson learned.”
