LAVERSTOCK and Ford drew a blank against Fleet Spurs as a frustrating afternoon petered out into a goalless draw at the Dell.

It was a first draw of the season for in-form Lavvy who will be disappointed not to have dispatched the visitors, who had won just once in their last eight matches – following a hot start to the season.

In truth, the game failed to produce many clear cut opportunities, yet the home side had the better moments but were thwarted by an impressive Spurs keeper.

Ollie Batchelor, James Clifton, Kane O’Keefe and Tom Mundy all had chances to score a winner but failed to convert.

Manager Robbie Lakeman said: “Having played so well in recent weeks we are all disappointed not to have won the game.

“We just never seemed to get going and the frustration grew throughout the game to the point where we started to force the issue and then it becomes hard to win a game of this type where both sides are cancelling each other out.

“That said it’s another clean sheet and another point we didn't have at the start of the game so we can be happy with that.

“If we continue to play the way we are then we will pick up more points along the way and confidence will grow. We can't dwell on the disappointment of today we just need to concentrate on the games coming up.”
