PETER Richmond-Cole’s double inspired Ringwood Town to an end of year victory over basementtrapped Romsey Town.

Kieran Osman also found the net against Romsey in the 3-0 victory to ensure they conclude 2014 in a pleasing sixth position following a second straight win in the Wessex Division One.

Festive cheer is lacking, though, for Wessex Premier outfit Verwood Town, who will be starting the new year with a different outlook – hoping to avoid relegation.

Carl Poore’s men lost by the odd goal at home to Hamworthy United on Saturday, which was their eighth successive defeat in all competitions.

Hoping to start 2015 afresh, 19th placed Potters go to Whitchurch United on Saturday while high-flyers Ringwood are set to host Downton.

Both are 3pm kick-offs.
