A LATE goal from substitute Mark Waters rewarded Downton’s efforts with a point as they earned their fourth 1-1 draw in five league meetings at a rearranged venue.
Due to Hythe and Dibden’s pitch being waterlogged, the clash was moved to Blackfield and Langley’s home.
Following a goalless first half, Lee Burch broke away to find the back of the net as Hythe drew first blood.
The hosts could have stretched their lead but were denied by a super double save by sturdy custodian Charles Aldridge.
Those stops kept the Robins’ hopes alive and with 15 minutes remaining, Waters turned home a free kick for the leveller.
- Samuel Howe has signed for Downton this week, having spent the earlier part of this season with Premier Division side Bemerton Heath Harlequins.
