BEMERTON Heath Harlequins had an unpredicted rest this week.

Having exited a wretched run of form by notching double league wins, they were hoping to shake up pace-setters Petersfield Town.

Bad weather, however, prevailed on Saturday and no game went ahead.

And their midweek clash with Horndean, meeting them in quick succession but this time in the Russell Cotes Cup, was also postponed.

The semi final will be played at a later date, with the reward being a place in the final against Blackfield and Langley, who were 6-1 winners over New Milton Town. Bemerton host Brockenhurst on Saturday (3pm).

Downton also missed out on action and they return to the football calendar on Saturday, entertaining Team Solent at Wick Lane (3pm).
