BEMERTON Heath Harlequins signed off the season in style by hitting Bournemouth for six at Western Way.

In a game that Bemerton dominated from start to finish it took 41 minutes for Scott Joyce to fire the home side in front after a number of squandered chances.

An early second half substitution saw David Jerrard enter the fray and was soon on the score sheet after 56 minutes.

Next it was the turn of skipper Graham Mankin to get his name on the score sheet after 67 minutes to kill off the game.

Scott Joyce added to his brace two minutes later before Reece Rusher somehow managed to squeeze home from what appeared an impossible angle to score the third goal in an incredible four minutes of action.

The Poppies scored a consolation goal 15 minutes from time and not to be outdone, David Jerrard recorded his second of the day in the 88th minute.

After the game boss Graham Kemp said: "I just said to the boys before kick off 'go and express yourself' and they didn't disappoint.

"Every game so far [since Kemp has been in charge] we have improved, which is good to see."

Kemp added that since previous manager Ian Chalk stood down the players had gone through a "culture shock" but were beginning to adapt to his "high tempo" system.

"We are looking to strengthen the side in the summer," he continued. "The Wessex league is going to be very tough so I am not going to be naive and say that we will win it.

"But every season as a manager you are looking to improve on your result from the previous year."
