A GRITTY comeback from Downton FC saw them preserve their place at the summit of Wessex Division One after taking two points off the ten men of Ringwood Town.
The Robins were in a precarious situation when they found themselves 2-0 down inside 17 minutes at Wick Lane.
Luke Gogan put the visitors ahead before Ben Harris created clear daylight between the two sides.
But the Robins, who blasted six past an despondent Totton and Eling on the opening day of the term, came back with vengeance.
James Sainsbury reduced the arrears before half time to give the hosts hope.
And up stepped reliant Declan McGregor late on to level it at 2-2.
After the penalty incident, the visitors' Matt Finlay picked up a second yellow card and was dismissed.
Downton head to Andover New Street on Saturday (3pm).
