BEMERTON Heath Harlequins bounced back from their FA Cup elimination to secure a point at home to one of the Wessex Premier big guns, Sholing.

A 27th minute strike from Rico Wilson was enough to dump Heath out of the preliminary round and send Blackfield and Langley through to the next round.

Boss Graham Kemp called for a marked improvement, and it was just what he got.

They came out of the blocks fired up and and subsequently took the lead in the 25th minute.

Graham Mankin turned in the box and flicked the ball into the far top corner.

The first half continued in the same vein and chances fell to Jack Slade and Tom Jeffes but the keeper saved well both times.

A bright start from the Boatmen four minutes into the second saw them snap up a leveller through a Daniel Mason header.

Speaking after the 1-1 draw, Kemp said: "We took the game to them and had a real go against a side who will be up there at the end of the season."
