A RAPID start to the second half saw Bemerton Heath Harlequins net three quickfire goals in a ten-minute spell to secure a Wessex Premier win at basement-stuck Bournemouth Poppies.

A smart opening volley from Tom Jeffes was snuffed out in the 16th minute when Connor Doe nodded home a set piece.

The remainder of the first half was an even affair with both teams scrapping away.

But, for the second game running, Bemerton came roaring out of the blocks after the restart, which was matched by a trio of finishes.

Will Robinson headed in a second before Jack Lovell tapped home Bemerton's third from close range.

Then there was a club goal for Josh Hazell with a neat finish across the keeper.

Boss Graham Kemp said: "It's never a nice place to come to, especially midweek, so to leave with a comfortable three points is pleasing."

Bemerton are away to Team Solent on Saturday (3pm).

Kemp added: "We now move onto Saturday, looking to keep this good little run going."
