A FOUR-GAME lay-off didn't effect Laverstock and Ford's attacking prowess on Tuesday night as they smashed four goals past East Cowes Victoria in Sydenhams Wessex Division One.

Russ Jones fired a hat-trick and Christian Hurst found the net in a 4-0 romp.

Despite dominating from the off, the opener didn't come until 35 minutes when Archie Lovegrove played in Russ Jones, who slotted home.

The slender lead was soon doubled five minutes into the second half, Adam Jones corner picked out Christian Hurst who thumped home a second.

Jones then played through younger brother, Russ, for his side's third, moments before the hour mark.

And hit-man Jones smashed home his hat-trick to take him to his goal tally to 19 for the season.

Manager Liam McConnell said: "Despite the frustrations of not playing recently, there was no sign of any rustiness. The lads were gagging to play football and the way we dominated was impressive. Okay, so perhaps we could have tripled the scoreline, but to win as emphatic as we did was pleasing to see."
