THE deadly Jones brothers struck again for Laverstock and Ford as they stormed to a 4-2 win at Ringwood Town.

Russell and Adam put the visitors into a two-goal lead after 22 minutes which was cancelled out by goals from Sean Leadbetter and Sam Chilman.

But Russell and Adam pounced once more with second half strikes for a third successive win in Sydenhams Wessex Division One.

Starting the brighter of the two sides, Laverstock soon found their stride and went ahead eight after minutes.

Russell Jones coolly beating the on-rushing keeper after collecting a fine through ball from brother Adam.

Adam then found the net to double his side's lead with an angled drive some 25 yards from goal.

The visitors then should have closed the curtains on Town after Tom Munday, James Clifton and Adam Jones had guilt-edged chances.

But, following a rare Town attack ten minutes from the interval, Leadbetter reacted quickest to a looping cross that caught out shot-stopper Alexis Aguer.

The second half began as the first ended with the home side restoring parity when Chilman provided a neat lob over Aguer.

Laverstock got back on track and two further goals from Adam Jones followed by Russell Jones, who netted his 23rd of the campaign, completed the victory at Long Lane.

Co-manager Liam McConnell told JournalSport: "Despite our away form being below-par this season, we made hard work of that, we had the chances to have been 4-5 up at half time, yet we allowed a dangerous side back into the game by switching off either side of half time.

"However, the character this young side has got is fearless and they knew they would get the result, in the end it was an 'old head' Rob Gallagher who changed the game, he was fantastic when he came on."

"The lads are buzzing but we know there is a long way to go."
