BEMERTON Heath Harlequins slipped to a 3-1 defeat at Sydenhams Wessex Premier heavyweights Blackfield and Langley - despite taking the lead.

Returning Scott Joyce put the visitors ahead after they had a goal ruled out for offside.

Further chances fell to Sam Griffin and Jon Blake before Blackfield were awarded a penalty ten minutes into the second half. And ex-Salisbury striker Jamie White dispatched the spot kick for the equaliser.

The momentum was then with the hosts and Liam Robinson was on hand to complete the comeback before White added a second to secure the three points.

Heath boss Graham Kemp said: “I felt we needed to react better to the set back of the penalty. Also missed chances, at key moments, proved costly and I’m not happy at the way we conceded as I don’t feel we made them work hard enough for their goals. On the plus side, to create at least five great chances against the title favourites is encouraging.

“Saturday is a must win game now.”
