A LATE goal from Tyler Brockway rescued a point for Amesbury Town in Tuesday night's derby with Bemerton Heath Harlequins in Sydenhams Wessex Premier.

Brockway marked his return from injury with an 88th minute spot kick for a share of the spoils.

Bemerton had taken the lead at Bonnymead Park, where they cruised to a preliminary round FA Cup win ten days ago, through Scott Joyce, who bagged a brace in Saturday's 2-1 win over Team Solent.

Earlier, they had mustered chances through Sam Griffin and Jon Blake as well as rocking the upright.

But they paid the price for poor finishing when Amesbury, fresh from defeating Fareham Town 3-2, levelled in the dying embers.

Bemerton boss Graham Kemp said: "When you miss as many chances as we did, you are always prone to conceding an equaliser and that's what happened. "There was nothing wrong with our performance apart from the final finish. We played well with a great tempo but it wasn't to be."

His opposite number, Jim Macey, told JournalSport: "To be honest, Bemerton were the better side again but missed a lot of chances. Credit to my lads they kept going."
