BEMERTON Heath Harlequins' 270-mile round trip to Plymouth Parkway came to fruition as they won their Buildbase FA Vase first round replay.

A second half double from Jack Slade and Jake Burgess' goal recorded a comfortable 3-0 victory at Bolitho Park.

"We were a little sluggish first half and were probably a little lucky to be level at half time," said Harlequins boss Graham Kemp.

"We changed a bit at half-time and we were virtually unplayable second half; everyone was exceptional and really focused on our game plan."

"The four-hour coach journey home left me very sluggish on Sunday shall we say!"

They will take on Plymouth's South West Peninsula League Premier Division rivals, Cullompton Rangers, in the second round as well as banking £675 in prize money.

They will make a similar distance trip - 170 miles - across the A303 on Saturday, November 12 (3pm).

Kemp added: "Cullompton will be just as difficult, but if we play like we did over the two games we have a good chance."

The first clash between Bemerton and Plymouth ended in a 2-2 draw after top scorer Scott Joyce struck a penalty.
