LAVERSTOCK and Ford continue to rule the roost in Sydenhams Wessex Division One.

Lavvy consolidated their five-point gap over nearest-challengers Hamble following a 4-2 victory over high-flying Tadley Calleva.

Sturdy defender Graham Mankin drew first blood for his side when sending a thunderous strike into the top corner on 37 minutes.

Russ Jones doubled the visitors' lead eight minutes into the restart - his 21st of the season.

The hosts halved the deficit when goalkeeper Lee Newman-Judd misjudged a cross.

Joe Sanger restored their two-goal cushion with a neat finish on 70 minutes.

Moments later, Rob Gallagher added a fourth with a smart finish from 20 yards to close the curtains on Tadley, who netted a consolation late on.

Co-managers Liam McConnell and Robbie Lakeman said: "Another deserved win on the road and, with five key regulars missing, the squad was tested and came up trumps again.

"We had to battle and be patient at times but this side are constantly challenging themselves.

"At the moment, we are delighted with how things are going, yet we are only in November, a lot more football to be played yet."

Lavvy have the chance to open a gap over Hamble when the two meet in the top-of-the-table clash at The Dell on Saturday.
