THE FA Vase hangover continues for Bemerton Heath Harlequins.

Graham Kemp's men were beaten at home 2-0 by Andover Town as they remain searching for a first win in eight Sydenhams Wessex Premier matches.

Two goals in the final 12 minutes from Javier Santafe-Vivo and Lerone Plummer settled the outcome.

Neither side created many openings in the opening half, with the first chance being carved up by Reece Rusher, who is dual registered with Salisbury.

After the break, Jon Blake went close with a good effort before top scorer Scott Joyce was denied by a super stop by Lloyd Thomas.

That save proved vital as the visitors broke the deadlock on 78 minutes.

Andover were awarded a free kick in a central position three yards outside the area. Santafe-Vivo lined the kick up and struck sweetly over the defensive wall into the top corner.

Then, in the 88th minute, Town’s second and decisive goal arrived. Plummer, wide on the right, put in a speculative shot that appeared to be travelling high over the bar before suddenly drifting into the net.

Heath, now down to 15th in the table, look to recover with a trip to division heavyweights Sholing on Saturday (3pm).
