JIM Macey insists Amesbury Town must stop giving "sloppy goals away" after a 3-2 home defeat to Bashley in Sydenhams Wessex Premier.

The Blues boss was left scratching his head as the New Forest visitors came from behind to win at Bonnymead Park.

Returning midfielder Cameron Roach got the hosts off to a good start when he latched onto a long ball and lobbed outcoming keeper Joe Prodomo on 36 minutes.

But the lead lasted just six minutes as a perfectly-timed free kick from Bradley Morris was met by a powerful header from Sean Wright.

The visitors' pressure continued and two goals in as many second half minutes extended their lead.

Rhys Owen's shot on 69 minutes was spilled by Paddy Creese into the path of Charlie Kendall who twisted and turned before lashing home.

Then, a rushed clearance by Crease rebounded off the body of the marauding Dan Munday, and he dutifully found the net.

Kieron Stephens, against his old club, fired a bullet shot which found its way through a congested goalmouth to halve the deficit.

And in added time Blues equalised, but it was disallowed following a foul on Prodomo in the build-up.

"We started the game very well and were on top for most of first half, which was capped with a great chipped goal from the returning Cameron Roach," said Macey.

"But after that they scored after poor defending from us. Then second half we gave them two goals."

"I'm disappointed with the way we keep giving such sloppy goals away."

Blues have won just once in 10 matches.
