ADAM Pearson’s wait for a win as Amesbury Town player/manager stretched to three games on Saturday.

A pair of goals from Marley Ridge condemned Blues to a 2-1 defeat to Sydenhams Wessex Premier table-toppers Moneyfields.

The young midfielder, who is loan from Havant and Waterlooville, scored twice in 60 seconds to put his side 2-0 up after 10 minutes.

Amesbury pulled one back through Ben Cook, but the champions-elect held tight to notch their 25th league win of the season.

“They’ve gone one up through an unstoppable strike, and a minute later we find ourselves two down, credit to us we kept battling and got a goal back and was still in the game until the final whistle,” Pearson rued.

The central defender, who took the reins from Jim Macey a few weeks ago, has had a tough start to his tenure.

His first three games were against the division’s heavyweights Blackfield and Langley, Sholing and Moneyfields.
