IN-FORM Laverstock and Ford rounded off the month by thumping AFC Stoneham 5-2 to continue their promotion push from Sydenhams Division One.

In a game which had the same outcome as Saturday's, it started with Russell Jones capitalising on a defensive lapse for the opener on 20 minutes.

But Stoneham bounced back after goals from Thomas Hogan and Chris Manning to give them an interval lead.

Laverstock came soaring out of the blocks. Graham Mankin smashed home before Olly Hoare bundled the ball over the line, both from Tom Mundy corners in a five-minute spell.

Rob Gallagher then converted from the spot following Russ Jones being felled on 71minutes.

Russ Jones then finished a great move played in by the impressive Joe Sanger late on to complete the rout.

Co-managers Liam McConnell and Robbie Lakeman were quick to applaud the second half showing.

"Like Saturday, the second half was blistering," they said.

"The first half was a lively, even game but the second half we really showed our desire and we were frightening. Stoneham are a dangerous team but in that second half they didn't get near us.

"The boys are buzzing but, as we keep telling them, a long way to go. Final 10 games now."

Lavvy are 10 points clear of fourth-placed Shaftesbury ahead of their crunch trip to second-placed Baffins Milton Rovers on Saturday (3pm).
