FC Salisbury United will play the in the National Futsal Super League.

They are currently second in the Midlands/West Division 2 of the National Futsal League, but the FA’s reconstruction of the leagues will see the Corinthians compete among the top 12 futsal teams in the country.

The club boast a fantastic set-up which is run completely by volunteers.

As well as the senior men’s first team, they have a development team and a number of children’s teams that have also been very successful.

Luke Ballinger, who is England’s all-time top goal scorer and most capped futsal player, will be back to play for the club for the 2017/18 season and he will add a huge amount of experience to Salisbury's young and exciting squad.

He told JournalSport: “Salisbury deserve to be in there with the best 12 teams in the country and I will do everything I can to support the team on and off the court and try to bring some of my international experience”.

The new league is to have increased funding from the FA and will see teams from as far as Manchester, York and Cambridge competing with United in the top tier.

Head coach Geoff Bonner said: “It's a huge achievement, and it's all of the club’s volunteers and supporters that have made this possible.

“Being the only club from the South West of England selected for the Super League is testament to how hard everyone has worked on and off the court and we're excited for the new challenges.”

Club captain Russ Parsons said: “Two years ago it would have been crazy to think we would reach the FA Futsal Cup Finals as a non-league side, now it seems crazy to think we could be playing Champions League futsal against Europe's elite. Anything is possible with these lads.”
