LAVERSTOCK and Ford Ladies have moved to top of the table following their 2-1 win over Trowbridge Town Ladies.
Lavvy ladies struggled to find the early season form they have had so far this campaign and found themselves 1-0 down in the 9th minute.
Trowbridge continued to press during the first half but after a reshuffle in midfield Laverstock started to find themselves coming back into the game.
In the 44th minute Lavvy’s Megan Fear was brought down inside the box and a penalty was awarded, Fear then stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way to level the game.
The second half saw Laverstock find their early season form and as they pressed looking for a second goal in the 75th minute Caitlin Lower was brought down inside the area and another penalty was awarded, Fear stepped up again and scored giving Lavvy the lead.
Some good defending ensured Trowbridge didn’t equalise and the game finished with Laverstock winning 2-1 which sees Laverstock jump above Salisbury FC Women and Trowbridge at the top of the table with games in hand.
