BEMERTON Heath Harlequins booked their place in the final of the Salisbury Hospital Cup after winning at Andover Town 3-1.

After 20 minutes after the home side's Luke Dempsey and Elliott Cross tangled and after a scuffle. Dempsey was shown a straight red card and a penalty was awarded.

Jake Rawkins took the spot kick, but Luke Cairney saved well at the expense of a corner.

Two minutes before the interval, the visitors took the lead as Jake Burgess fired in a 25-yard volley.

Five minutes into the second period Bemmy added a second, thanks to Cross from distance.

Andover pulled a goal back, but Bemerton sealed the tie on 85 minutes as Jordan Matthews netted their third.

Manager Rae Hughes said: "It was a fantastic performance against a quality outfit. Our desire and work rate were incredible which when playing a top team like Andover is a must.

"I am delighted for the lads and the club that we can finish the season with a cup final. Attention turns to tomorrow night now though, when we make the long trip to Horndean for another league fixture with some extremely tired legs."

The cup final is at Laverstock and Ford's ground on Monday May 7 (3pm) against Shaftesbury.

Bemerton are looking for a new assistant manager ahead of the new season.
