WILTON Town FC goes into the new Wiltshire League Division Two season full of confidence after their fine six-game winning streak at the end of last season.

The club is looking forward to what is just the second season in their history and will be running four sides.

The reserve side will play in the Salisbury and District League Division Two on a Saturday with another side playing in Division Three of the Salisbury and District Sunday League.

The quartet is made up of an under-15 side playing in the Testway Youth League on a Saturday morning.

First team manager Graham Fisher is looking forward to the season with excitement.

He said: “We were looking good in the latter half of last season and we have managed to keep most of that side together and added a couple of new faces as well.

“We know it will be a tough season but I’m confident we’ll be at the top of the league this year rather than at the other end where we started last season.

“I can‘t wait for it to start.”

The first pre-season friendly for Wilton is on Wednesday, July 22, when they travel to Andover to take on the Southern League club’s reserve side.

They then face further tests against Chalke Valley, Warminster Town reserves, Alderbury and Porton Sports.

Wilton Town, who are based at Castle Meadow, off North Street in Wilton, are an ambitious club and are working towards a five year plan which would see them looking to make the jump to tier six football.
