Salisbury & District League roundup - March 24/25

ST Pauls Club completed a league and cup double by beating FC Bulford 2-1 in Sunday's Graham Chalke Cup Final at Bemerton.
Louis Elder's goal early in the second half broke the deadlock and a spectacular individual effort from Nick Jackson gave them some breathing space. Bulford exerted heavy pressure and scored a late consolation.
Also on Sunday, Royal George won 4-2 at Cedars in Division Two. The baking weather made it tough going for both teams in a non-eventful first half, although the hosts took the lead through a Mark Styles own goal from an inswinging corner.
George came back in the second half though, and James Hazzard's through ball was fired across the goalkeeper by Mike Penk for the equaliser. Jimmy Gale's perfectly weighted ball was prodded in by Lee Callender to put George ahead, and they extended that lead when Hazzard smashed in after Dave Petty's fine run.
Man-of-the-match Hazzard then latched onto Jimmy Gale's superb pass before flicking over the defender and unleashing a half volley from 20 yards to make it 4-1 in spectacular fashion. Cedars pulled one back with five minutes to go.
On Saturday, Chalke Valley came back from a goal down to overpower Value Cars 6-1.
Dale Gower's 20-yard shot opened the scoring on 23 minutes, and Cars held that lead until five minutes before the break when Mark Batchalor calmly finished. Biser Kostov won the ball in the box and put Valley ahead right on half time.
Three goals in four minutes ended the game. Kostov completed a hat trick with goals on 63 and 65 minutes, and Batchalor grabbed his second after 67 minutes. Wayne Parsons completed the rout with four minutes to go.
