Enford bid for double after slaying George
ENFORD'S hopes of completing a league and cup double were reinforced by a 4-2 win against George Hotel in the semi-final of the Heseltine Cup.
Goals by Michael Martin, Gareth Blacklock, Tom Adams and Arron Thorpe saw the Division One side through to the final, which will be played at Amesbury Town's Bonny Mead ground on Wednesday, April 9.
Julian Lee's outfit remain 11 points behind league leaders Chalke Valley Roofing, but have six games in hand and can close the gap further this weekend when they host George & Dragon.
Two sides who will contest cup finals over the Bank Holiday weekend locked horns in a Premier Division contest on Saturday.
St Paul's Club, who meet Friends Provident in Monday evening's Morrison Cup final, were handed a lesson in finishing by Alderbury, who ran out 6-2 victors.
Alderbury, who take on Whiteparish tomorrow (Friday) in their Norman Court Cup final at Downton's ground, raced into a 4-0 half-time lead and had made it five before Saints got on the scoresheet courtesy of a Ben Betteridge effort and an Ian Ball spot kick.
West Harnham were the day's top scorers putting 12 past strugglers Boscombe Down without reply in their Division One match.
Duck Inn booked a place in the Kimber Cup final by beating Five Bells 5-2. Although Bells took the lead early on, goals from Luke Lewis (2), Alan Lucas, Ryan Hutchinson and Donald Hibberd saw Duck through.
