DOWNTON’s men have secured promotion after winning the New Forest League Division 2 title following a 6-2 win over Lyndhurst.
Iford Bridge will join Downton in Division 1 next season, in which Ringwood will defend the championship.
The ladies, who are in Division B, are still in top spot as they lead by one point with a game in hand.
In the Wilts 4 Rink League, Amesbury were again champions but it was a close battle for second place where Alderbury just pipped Salisbury after a nailbiting final game.
In the play-offs Amesbury play Winsley at Holt BC on Sunday and Alderbury are scheduled to play Holt at Box BC.
n Three Amesbury players from the county championships - Ashley Plumb, Chris Collins and Pete Long - have all progressed to the quarterfinals of the Unbadged Singles Competition on Saturday at Chippenham.
