SALISBURY RFC missed out on victory in their penultimate pre-season friendly.
The Castle Road outfit entertained London Division 1 side Havant, in front of a strong attendance, with the score ending 33-43.
Try scorers were new arrivals flanker Max Heal and winger Dan Hammond, returning loose forward Liam Gilbert, fullback Tom Pottage and prop Aiden Gill. Pottage was successful with four conversions from five attempts.
First team coach Dan Jeffries, whose heading the new coaching team with Liam Gilbert and Matt Blake, said: “I thought we looked really good.
“I am very impressed with the way the squad is coming together and how dangerous we looked against opponents from the next level up.”
This week Salisbury take three sides to Royal Wootton Bassett for their final friendly fixture before starting life in Southern Counties.
