ALRIGHT Benny – a course and distance winner at Plumpton two weeks previously – staged an encore at the Sussex track on Monday.
With Jamie Moore taking over in the saddle from Tom O'Brien, the 11-year-old chestnut scored a runaway success in the 2m4f handicap chase for Whitsbury trainer Paul Henderson.
Ground conditions – classed as good last month – were very different this time after heavy rain, but Alright Benny revelled in the mud and jumped his four rivals to come home by 22 lengths.
The former Irish point-to-pointer gave Henderson his ninth victory of the National Hunt season.
