ROUND eight of the South West Orienteering Association’s Galoppen League saw some fine performances from 21 Sarum Orienteers on the Rushmore Estate, Tollard Royal.
Ben Chesters (M35) was third and Rob Ashton (M21) was fifth on the brown course while Gary Sawyer (M35) was ninth on the blue course. Peter Hambleton (M70) came in first on short green and Dean Hodgson (M16) was eighth on orange course and Max Duncan (M10) seventh on the junior white course.
With just one event to go in the Galoppen race series, Ben Chesters, with 4,952 points, and Peter Hambleton, 4,863 points, look set to win the brown and short green courses, respectively.
Sarum Orienteers have a taster and training session in Churchill Gardens on Tuesday, April 21 at 7pm.
