SALISBURY swimmer Katy Cutler has been sharpening her waterpolo skills in Hungary.
The young Stingrays star was with the GB Girls Waterpolo Talent Squads for a total of ten days, which saw her play in six matches against Hungarian teams in the first five days.
Said Katy: "I started with the 2001 GB squad, my own age group and there were six two-hour training sessions. The first day we played a team in Budapest called BVSC who provided a good match."
"For the second five-day camp I was with the 2000 GB squad. We played an older BVSC team in Budapest before travelling back down to Szentes where we participated in a further five days training and playing matches against an older local team as well as an American girls 1999 team.
"During this time I developed my skills in pit attack and pit defence as well as learning second set techniques."
Among the highlights was a ceremony held by the Mayor of Szentes, who "welcomed us as the first team from Great Britain to the new 50m pool in Szentes. I was one of 6 of our squad had that the honour of carrying my country's flag during the ceremony."
