STELLAR performances from two Salisbury Tri Club members were rewarded with silver medals at the Big T Triathlon.
Ruth Thom, pictured above with Hannah Yates, a week after registering a personal best time in the London Marathon, took second place overall in the ladies’ long distance event and finished first in her age category in Trowbridge.
Yates, similarly, was the second-placed lady and first in the category awards in the sprint distance, under the watchful eye of club and personal coach, Sarah Kemp.
The success marked a successful full year in the sport after entering through the club’s Introduction to Triathlon programme, which is running again later this year.
Out of the country, a quartet from Salisbury Triathlon Club made their way to Southern France for IRONMAN 70.3 Pays d’Aix.
A taxing 1.2mile swim, 56mile bike ride and half marathon was conquered by debutant Jen Witt, Alan Bayliss, Mark Ingle and Dudley Kent, all placing well.
