FITNESS all-rounders were out in force for Salisbury Tri Club at the much-rated Durrington Triathlon.

An array of strong performances saw the city contingent dominate proceedings on the leaderboard.

They boasted six men finishing in the top 10 and had four women secure a top five finish.

Sarah Kemp did a fantastic job defending her title as she won the ladies' section ahead of Emma Houghton in second.

Isobel Atkin achieved first female veteran and Jen Witt broke into the top half of the table, coupled with recording a personal best for the event.

For the men, Wayne Reynolds came fourth and Andrew Holme was sixth.

Scott Hill gained seventh place despite changing an inner tube on the bike section, while John Dowding was eighth, which was enough to see him win the male veteran prize, and James Cooper finished in tenth with a time of 1:02.

Completing their maiden triathlon were Andy Fallon and intro to tri course graduate Juliet Stokoe.

Also racing were Julian Himmerich, Chris Pascoe, Katie Clements, Dan Colloby, Sue Dowding, John Stringer, Jane Knight, Philippa Nash, Katie West and David West.

One-hundred and fifty miles away, in Cornwall, was Hannah Yates.

The Salisbury triathlete was racing her brother in the 1,500m sea swim, 36k cycle and 9k run.

She completed the Marazion Olympic distance triathlon on Saturday with a time of 02:31:16, enough to see her finish third in her category and be the sixth fastest female overall.
