A FIVE-HUNDRED mile round trip to the Lake District was worthwhile for a solitary Sarum Orienteer.
Club chairman Ian Peirce raced in the two-day Twin Peaks - and produced a fine run on day one before turning in a second win at Angle Tarn to secure the M70 class title by three minutes.
Nearer to Salisbury, Sarum runners competed in two urban orienteering events in Poole and Sherborne.
Carolyn Dent (W50) had the pick of the Sarum results with third place in Poole and a splendid first place in Sherborne.
