A WELL-ESTABLISHED riding centre in Wilton is celebrating 40 years in business on Sunday.
Grovely Riding Centre at Ditchampton Farm, which first opened in 1975, boasts 40 liveries and 18 riding school horses.
Salisbury-educated Gerry Dunne and Sue Curtis took the school over from Mick Clarke.
Over the years, the yard has survived two recessions and regularly supports charity events that help the likes of Motor Neurone Disease Association, Salisbury Hospice and Cancer Research.
The centre also boasts itself on teaching children to progress in riding and stable management which bodes well for those wishing to pursue a career in the horse industry.
Many students, who started at the yard as an apprentice, have gone on to pass their NVQ and BHS qualifications.
