HOT racing is in store for petrol heads as the Midland Hillclimb Championship contingent makes its annual visit to Gurston Down.

Some 140 entries this weekend will be taking to the Broad Chalke track where there are critical points at stake in both series.

There will be two top 12 run offs thrilling shoot-outs for those registered in the Midland Championship to bring Sunday’s morning and afternoon sessions to finales.

Among the drivers, locally, taking to the wheel are Mark Parrett and Jason Martin.

Once again they share their 1.6 Autotune Gemini for the weekend in the roadgoing specialist production car class, having made their competition debuts in June.

And also entered in this class is Gurston regular Adrian Lewis, who fields his rapid 1.4 Westfield Megabusa.

Steve Holley again runs his 5.2 litre TVR Griffith in the equally competitive over 2000cc marque sports car class.

Still holding the joint lead in the Gurston Down Hillclimb Championship after round three in June is Stephen Moore (©Akina Media), who goes in his Janspeed 2.0 Mitsubishi Evo 6 in the over 2000cc modified series production car class.

Wilton's Chris Cannell and Sue Hayes will be the fastest local drivers in their new 1.3 supercharged Empire Evo, which runs in the up to 2000cc sports libre class.
