A VETERANS trio shined at a Bournemouth-based competition.
Charlotte Thornton, Ian Peirce and Denise Mullins all had fines at Littledown Park for the Wessex Hardy Relay races as they reclaimed the Veteran's Trophy for Sarum.
The junior side also came to fruition, with Lucy Wilkinson, Hazel Cutler and Dean Hodgson sharing the team prize with rivals Wimborne
The previous day saw Sarum have a whole clutch of athletes at the Marlborough Urban Masters race.
Organised by North Wilts Orienteers, competitors were taken round the streets and back lanes of the town and into the grounds of the famous college.
The best individual results for Sarum Orienteers came from Jack Benham (fifth in the men’s open class) and Megan Ashton (second in women’s Open). In women’s veteran (W40+) class, Carolyn Dent came fifth, Denise Mullins was fifth in Women’s Super Vets (W55+) and Liz Yeadon and Charlotte Thornton took sixth and seventh places, respectively, in women’s ultra Vets (W65+).
Charles Bromley-Gardiner was first and Paul Lane third in M55+ and Dave Mullins sixth in M65+.
