THE deadline for people to nominate an individual for the sixth Wiltshire Sports Awards is looming.

Voters have until 5pm on 27 August to make a nomination for this year’s Wiltshire Council-hosted awards, which recognise and reward athletes, clubs, coaches and volunteers from across the county.

Anyone can nominate to one of the 12 award categories, with the top three from each being invited to attend the prestigious presentation event on October 21 in County Hall, Trowbridge. I

t will be hosted by former England rugby captain, Phil de Glanville along with a special guest (TBC).

Jonathon Seed, cabinet member for leisure and sport, said: “This is the final opportunity for anyone to nominate someone, a team, or an organisation they believe is making a real difference and deserves to be recognised for what they do. We have already received many really great nominations, but with all the good work which takes place in Wiltshire we know there are even more out there. I am really looking forward to showcasing and publicising the amazing achievements of sports people and volunteers in Wiltshire.”
