SALISBURY Hockey firsts' travel woes continued after failing to win a third successive away clash at Aldershot & Farnham.

It was another frustrating afternoon for the Lower Bemerton outfit, who once again outplayed an opponent but had to settle for a point following a 2-2 stalemate.

Despite failing to win, the forward line placed continued pressure on Aldershot by pressing the ball in the final third. It meant the home side were left to pick-up scraps and attack on the break.

Salisbury took the lead through Jon Powell but were pegged back by Aldershot. The Hampshire-side then surprisingly took the lead within the final ten minutes with a scrappy shot which made it past keeper Lewis Gunstone-Gray.

But Salisbury, who failed to make the most of a number of penalty corner opportunities found a way to equalise through vice-captain Jagjit Marwaha after an attack down the left hand side. Next-up will be Gillingham at South Wilts Sports Club on Saturday.

The second team secured their first point of the season following a 1-1 home draw against Bournemouth.

And the ladies' firsts were not in action but will play Chippenham at home on Saturday.
