SEVEN City of Salisbury runners braved the mud at the rain-drenched Plain Crazy 11mile multi terrain race.
Andy Budgell was the club’s quickest on the day, his 1hour 30min 37sec a solid performance despite a fall in one of the several off-road, muddy stretches. His run compared well with the winning time of 1.16.11 - set on the Warminster-based course by specialist Ed Fazakerly of Manchester Harriers.
Sally Greenslade made a welcome return to competition with a good 1.40.53. Then came Kate Mansfield with a steady 1.57.41 and Clive Smith 1.57.43, followed by a delighted Jane Whiteley, who crowned a number of recent performances by winning her age group in a time of 1.58.07.
Chrissy Gorham clocked 2.00.51 and an under-par Colin Martin still crossed the line in a plucky 2.34.12.
