RUNNING newcomers can sign-up to a two-month course that will prepare them for a 5k race.

Stonehenge Triathlon and Road Club (STAR) is encouraging people, who are new to running, to register to an eight-week programme this month called Couch to 5k Coach Plan.

Sessions, run by two volunteers, comprise a range of stretches, walks and runs at the sports field opposite Durrington swimming pool each Saturday morning.

The first session begins on January 23 (10am) and, on the ninth week, runners will take to the Salisbury parkrun (March 19), which is three miles long.
