BEN Brewster galloped to success in the 16mile Combe Gibbet to Overton race last weekend.
The former City of Salisbury prospect, who has now transferred to Southampton AC to get higher grade competition, showed good marathon form in recording a time of 1hour 36min 25sec.
His father Mike, one of the Salisbury club’s outstanding veterans, did equally well to record 1.46.25 for eighth place and Will Watson was close behind in 11th spot with 1.51.02.
Sarah Warren was the club’s best performer at the Reading half marathon. Swapping her Salisbury vest to raise funds for a charity in memory of her mother, she used the speed she normally draws from on the track to run a fine 1hour 44min 27sec.
Liz Roberts ran a personal best by the narrowest of margins, reducing her time over the same distance last week by a single second to 1.50.23. Andy Robbins then just missed the two hour barrier with a time of 2.02.21.
