MASTERS swimming duo Phil Muspratt and Rob Langan both tasted success this past weekend at the 2016 British Masters Championships in Sheffield.

Held at Ponds Forge International Pool, both swimmers were in action as they prepare for the European Masters Championships in London at the end of May.

The three day meet attracted hundreds of swimmers from across the country included ex-GB swimmer Katy Sexton.

Rob Langan was in great form picking up two medals from his three events, narrowly missing out on a third. His weekend started off with a silver medal in the 25-29 years 100m backstroke, taking half a second off the time he recorded at the Welsh National Masters Championships at the beginning of March. On the following day he again found medal winning form by claiming bronze in the 200m backstroke. Langan also took forth place in the 50m backstroke earlier that day.

"I'm feeling really positive about this weekend. I was really happy with my 100m backstroke race, I took a big chunk off the time I recorded a month ago. Some of my other results weren't what I was hoping for however I know what I need to work on so it's just a case of addressing that in training" Langan said.

Jones & Co sponsored swimmer Phil Muspratt was also in fantastic form. He swam in five events, including his favoured and hotly contested 100m and 50m freestyle. His weekend got off to a brilliant start in the men's 30-35 years 100m backstroke. He took gold in a Personal Best time. On the second day of competition he recorded two season best times in the 50m backstroke and 200m freestyle to claim a brace of golds.

That same evening he went in the 50m freestyle seeded in second place behind Alistair Crawford of East Leeds. Phil narrowly missed out on gold by the smallest of margins. Although claiming another seasons best time of 24.13 seconds, it was shy of gold by 0.08 of a second.

In the 100m freestyle however he just missed out on another gold out. Phil's time of 53.95 was this time 0.06 shy of another gold medal.

"Considering I have been ill this past two weeks I'm really happy with how I've swam," he said. "I'm disappointed that such good swims under tough circumstances haven't given me the five golds I was after. However, four season best and a personal best time aren't to be sniffed at. I am edging closer to where I want to be and it's only a matter of time before I'm hitting the times I know I'm capable of.

"I have the Scottish Nationals at the end of this month and then the Europeans. It will be Eat Sleep Train Repeat for the next two months. I would like to place on record my gratitude to Jones & Co for all of their continued support."
