WHITSBURY trainer Paul Henderson and Sway owner/breeder Eddie Evans are enjoying a vintage Flat racing season with six wins in just 12 outings from Medburn Dream and his half-brother Medburn Cutler.

The latest triumph came from Medburn Dream at Chepstow on Bank Holiday Monday when the three-year-old landed a £20,000 handicap, the richest prize Henderson and Evans have ever achieved on the Flat.

The colt is renowned for his speed from the starting gate and once more he burst out of the stalls under Jimmy Quinn to make all the running with the 12-1 chance coming home a length clear of his nearest rival.

Medburn Dream had finished last of nine only 10 days before at Sandown Park but Henderson was confident of a far better performance this time.

“Sandown was his first race for two months," he said. It was on good/firm going which is not ideal for him and he had a good blow afterwards.

“I knew he would come on for that and on Saturday he did a phenomenal piece of work with Medburn Cutler – they went for 3f at around 40mph – and after that I knew he would run a big race at Chepstow especially as there was cut in the ground.”

This was the fourth victory of the year from seven races for the son of Whitsbury Manor stallion Showcasing following an early-season hat-trick in April on rain-softened surfaces at Windsor, Epsom and Chepstow.
