ORGANISERS of a well-established football league have issued a last ditch plea to save it.
The Salisbury and District League is under scrutiny due to dwindling numbers.
Grassroots football first started in the area since 1892. Fast forward 124 years and now there is just one league on a Saturday.
Secretary Richard Nelson said: "Local men's football is suffering from changes to our society, more indoor football arenas and outside five-a-side courts are readily available but nothing is quite the same as playing football on grass - be it Autumn, Winter or Spring."
